A small-wedding project. We designed the day ourselves as a meal shared with about ten guests, and built a web archive and a gift-funding service for it.

We had no fantasy of a wedding, but we did want to find its meaning. To us, a wedding was a place to announce our beginning and to reaffirm the relationships we had kept close. So instead of a big ceremony, we made a small gathering, sharing a meal with about ten guests, and skipped what gets done only by convention: bridal gifts, a studio shoot, even the formal meeting of the families. Then we solved the problems that come with being small in our own way. Since we couldn't invite most people, we built an open web archive of who we are and how we came this far. Since cash gifts felt awkward and dull, we built a funding service that pools many people's goodwill into one gift that's truly needed. Where convention was cleared away, we filled the day with experiences we could build ourselves.
